Supporting women doesn’t automatically discriminate against men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Is the government insulting the women by not taking action to combat the\u00a0menopause?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It has slammed women’s doors in their faces when the progress was finally starting to emerge on this subject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last month, the government rejected an amendment to the law intended to help menopausal woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A million women are estimated to leave their jobs due to the lack of support during menopause<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Equalities Act was amended to include menopause as a “protected characteristic” in the recommendation of the Commons Women and Equalities Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The report focused on menopause in the workplace and how women often feel unsupported and are forced out of their jobs due to menopause symptoms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a\u00a0BUPA\u00a0& CIPD study, 1 million women are estimated to leave their jobs due to a lack support during menopause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government’s rejection of the proposal is even more shocking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caroline Nokes, Conservative MP said it was a missed opportunity to prevent a large number of talented and experienced females from leaving the workplace. She added that she is not convinced that menopause should be a priority for the Government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr Dawn Harper\u00a0, an NHS GP and broadcaster, commented that ‘working women in menopause are the fastest-growing demographic in the UK. They also tend to be the most senior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Unfortunately, employers in the UK are not aware of how menopause can affect their employees. A lack of support is pushing women away from the workplace.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Menopause at work has been a hot topic for many years, despite the government’s refusal. Many companies have invested time and money in supporting their menopausal employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
